Year 7 Transition
Firstly, congratulations on gaining a place at The Queen Elizabeth Academy. We believe that a smooth, positive and exciting transition from Year 6 to Year 7 is crucial to the start of students’ time at The Queen Elizabeth Academy. We know that the move from year 6 to year 7 can be daunting but also very exciting. To make this process as smooth as possible, we aim to visit every student in their primary school. We take the opportunity to get to know your child and collect any key information which aids us when allocating teaching groups and will help them settle in quickly.
In July we invite all students to attend an Induction day where they will meet their tutor and tutor group members. During the day students will experience life at The Queen Elizabeth Academy, taking part in lessons and eating in the school canteen. Additional visits will also be arranged for vulnerable students by the Learning Support team.
We have had an extremely successful start to The Queen Elizabeth Academy. Our new year 7 students have settled in well and are thoroughly enjoying their time with us. Students who have joined us this year have had the following to say about our school;
“I was dreading starting secondary school, but the teachers were amazing and the lessons were great. I can’t wait for more!”
“I have had an awesome first two weeks at The Queen Elizabeth Academy, I can’t wait for much more fun. I have met brilliant new friends and amazing teachers!”
