Upcoming Events.

Over the next month we have many exciting events planned for you to aide your transition into secondary education. Information on the events can be found below, but please keep an eye on the web page and our social media pages for updates on the exact dates for these.

Year 6 Teacher Meetings

We have already conducted virtual meetings with all of the Year 6 teachers from your child’s school. This has allowed us to get detailed information of every students joining us, along with predicted SATS results, medical information and any special educational needs.

Google Classroom Activities

To allow your child to communicate and engage as much as possible with other students in their year group we will be positing challenges and competitions onto the Google Classroom each week for them to try and complete. Your child’s primary schools are aware of these and will allow opportunities for those students who are attending schools to complete them.

Primary School Visits

The transition team are still planning to visit your child at their primary school setting. This will of course be in accordance with all social distancing measures and will take place outdoors. This is an opportunity for us to meet them and go over key information about TQEA.

Virtual Transition Evening

On Wednesday 8th July, as per the original calendared date, we will be posting our virtual transition evening. This will be a pre-recorded event and will allow staff to deliver the key messages that they were planning to give you on the night. This will be posted onto the transition section of the website and also the Google Classroom.

Virtual Tutor Evening

Following on from the transition evening, you will be invited to attend a virtual tutor meeting along with your child. This will most likely be held on either Microsoft TEAMS or Zoom. This will be an opportunity for you to meet your child’s new tutor and other parents/students within the form group. Further invitations will be emailed out to you nearer the time.

Q&A Sessions

All questions that have been asked by yourself or your child, will be answered by our members of staff or current students. These will be recorded and will then be posted onto the Website and the Google Classroom in a special Q&A folder. The names of the parent/student who asked the question will not be shared.

SEND and Lone Starter Meetings

If your child has any special educational needs or is a coming from a primary school that is not one of our main feeder schools then we will be organising 1:1 virtual meetings with you to gain further information and offer additional reassurance. These meetings will again be held over either Microsoft TEAMS or Zoom and invites will be sent through individual emails so please look out for these.
