SEND Information

Our SEND strategy is divided into three waves.

 

Wave One- In the Classroom

• Zonal approach LSA deployment with 100% coverage of core subjects as priority and Learning Support areas, rolled out into the wider curriculum for in-class support of all students in need of SEN support (Learning, physical and mental health needs)
• Modelling/sharing good practise in relation to teaching and learning for students with SEN
• Sign posting and producing resources which promote inclusivity in the classroom
• Effective communication of needs via Personalised Learner Passports: Challenge and support of students as required
• Adaptive teaching in every classroom to remove barriers to learning
• Promotion of equality, equal access to every aspect of TQEA school life and routines

Wave Two- In the Academy

• Bespoke interventions are baselined and regularly assessed to ensure positive impact
• Quality assurance of Wave 1 teaching and bespoke intervention on-going (SEN Learning Walks/ ELEVATE referrals/ Work scrutiny/ Governor and trust evaluative visits)
• PAND targets are high quality and SMART; they facilitate a pupil centred graduated approach through collaboration between students, teachers and parents

Wave Three- Specialist Support

• Informed referrals are made to specialists in a timely manner
• Students with Educational Healthcare Plans (EHCPs) receive effective personalised support and provision to ensure their objectives are met in agreement with both the students, their parents and the Local Authority
