DEI Curriculum Map

Intent:

At TQEA, our curriculum is designed to promote diversity, equity and inclusion by ensuring all students feel seen, valued and respected. We explicitly teach and embed understanding of the nine protected characteristics: age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation. Through a broad and inclusive curriculum, we challenge discrimination, celebrate difference and equip students with the knowledge, empathy and confidence to thrive in a diverse society.

DEI at TQEA:

DEI is central to life at TQEA, underpinning our culture, curriculum and community. We actively foster an inclusive academy where all students and staff, regardless of age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, or sexual orientation, feel safe and supported. Through curriculum content, enrichment opportunities and pastoral care, we promote equality, challenge prejudice and ensure every individual has the opportunity to succeed and belong.

What are we proud of?:

We are proud of the inclusive culture we have built at TQEA, where diversity is celebrated and every member of our community feels valued. Our curriculum meaningfully reflects the nine protected characteristics through authentic representation and discussion. We are proud of our students’ growing confidence to challenge discrimination, show empathy and respect difference, and of the opportunities we provide through events, enrichment and leadership that promote equality and belonging for all.
